BEANTOWN BOUND?

Shaquille O'neal is likely to be wearing Celtic green for the upcoming NBA season. ESPN first reported that Shaq is likely to sign with the Boston Celtics as soon as Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Boston can only offer the veterans minimum of 1.35 million dollars for a veteran who has played 10 or more seasons. If the big fella requests more money, the Cavs could work up some kind of trade that will appeal to both parties. Shaq made 20 million dollars last season with Cleveland last season. Shaq (age 38), had been the likely canidate for the Atlanta Hawks until they heard of Shaq's want of more money. Up until then, Atlanta was the front-runner to sign the 4 time NBA champ. Talks with Atlanta has since died down and Boston has emerged as the team most likely to sign the future hall of famer. It will be strange to see O'neal in Celtic green considering his past with the Lakers. Boston would be Shaq's 3rd team in 3 seasons and his 6th team over the coarse of his 18 season carreer.

SEASON OPENERS

NBA fans now know how who will be kicking off the 2010-2011 season. NBA TV is holding a 1 hour special on the special games for this upcoming season with opening night, Christmas day, and Martin Luthar King Jr. day. On October 26th, the Miami Heat will play in Boston to battle with the defending eastern conference champions. The second game will feature the defending 2 time NBA champions, the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Houston Rockets in the Staples Center. It's sure to be an interesting opening night. I wonder if im the only one to realize that Dwyane Wade and Lebron James will be starting the season in the same place where both of their teams playoff runs ended last season. Wade losing in the first round and James getting the boot in the second. I have a strange feeling Bostons not prepared for whats going to happen on the 26th of October.

BYE BYE DELONTE

The Minnesota Timberwolves have announced they have waived point gured Delonte West. Delonte, who played last season in Cleveland, was dealt to Minnesota during this past offseason for a future 2013 second round draft pick. West has played spent the last two and a half seasons with the Cavs. Delonte played 60 games with Cleveland last year including 3 starts and averaged close to 9 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds.

WILLIAMS STAYING PUT IN ORLANDO

Jason Williams has decided to stay and re-sign with the Orlando Magic. Terms of the deal have not been released as Williams and the Magic were still finalizing the deal on Tuesday. Keeping Williams gives the Magic 3 point guards on the roster. Orlando has added point guard Chris Duhon and veteran small forward Quentin Richardson

SHOULD HE STAY OR SHOULD HE GO?

Fans of the new-look Golden State Warriors are all wondering the same thing... The FUTURE of Don Nelson. Nelson, who has one year left on his current contract with the team could possibly be replaced at the bench before the season gets started. New team owner Joe Lacob, who recently bought the Warriors for a record setting 450 MILLION dollars gave no hints or clues regarding the possible coaching change. According to Lacobs, he will meet with the team staff, evaluate what he sees, and will make "informed decisions". Nelson, who is the NBA's most winningest coach would likely be replaced by assistant coach Keith Smith. But according to the players, they would like to see Don stay. Besides, dont the Warriors have enough problems, why make matters worse with a young rookie coach expecting him to turn things around. Well if the Wariors do decide to hire a new coach, I hope they don't expect to go far or be in the top 10 of there respected conference. Remember what conference your in Golden State, the western conference. As long as the Lakers, Nuggets, Spurs, Suns, and even the Thunder are around, the idea of making the playoffs is nothing but a dream. Just stick with Don Nelson, it's not his fault the team is the shape they are. Besides, if you hire a new coach, he wont live up to expectations and he'll be fired after the seasons ends anyways
