BACKUP IS HERE!

Yes we did. Thats the slogan the Miami Heat created after the signings of Dwyane Wade, Lebron James, & Chris Bosh. With those 3 key players eating up so much cap, the heat still had to fill many more spots on there roster. But never doubt Pat Riley. Riles has done it again. With little cap and only 4 players on the heat roster, Riley did what most people couldn't. Riley has managed to sign both young and old talent that can give the heat an excellent boost. Adding names such as Juan Howard, Big Z, Mike Miller, & most recently Eddie House. The heat also retained players that were on the team a season ago in Udonis Haslem, Carlos Arroyo, James Jones, Jamal Magloire, and Joel Anthony. The heat currently have 14 players on the roster. They can have up to 20 players on the roster until the start of the season where they will have cut it down to at least 15 players. What most thought to be impossible, the Miami Heat have indeed did it. Who said you can't have an all-star game every night?

TOP FREE AGENTS STILL AVAILABLE

Larry Huges, Tracy McGrady, Jerry Stackhouse, & Allen Iverson are all veteran players who have yet to find a team they can play for this upcoming season. Is your favorite team willing to bank on these once superstar caliber athletes. Comment your thoughts

Remembering Lorenzen The WRIGHT Way

First of all, R.I.P. Lorenzen Wright. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Wright was found dead nine days after he went missing on top of a small hill that stopped just before a wooded area. His body was hidden by the thickness of the bushes. Lorenzen was reportedly shot at least a dozen times and said to have been robbed considering he was caryying between 2 and 3 THOUSAND dollars in large bills on him at the time of the shooting. Lorenzen Wright played 13 seasons in the NBA and has played for the Clippers, Hawks, Grizzlies, Kings, and most recent the Cavs. Wright was selected 7th overall in the 1996 NBA draft by the L.A. Clippers. The Wright family plans to hold a service for the former NBA star some time next week. The investigation is still ongoing, and police are treating the matter as a homicide case.

NYC BOUND?

Shannon Brown may be headed to the the big apple to team up with Amare Stoudemire and the New York Knicks. Nothing has been made official, but Brown has reportedly been offered a contract from the knicks worth 4 to 5 million dollars for X amount of years. The extent of the offer have not been confirmed. The Los Angeles Lakers are still hoping to resign the young point guard who currently is coming off the bench backing up both Derrick Fisher and Kobe Bryant. The Lakers on the other hand are looking at other free agent guards just incase they miss out on Shannon. The Lakers are said to have a deal on the table themselves, but with a potential starting job and more money being thrown at him from New York, the decision for Brown will certainly not be easy. Shannon, you already got a couple rings, why not get a few more dollars and PT (Playing Time) in a great marketing city such as New York.

DISCOVERING HIS ROOTS

Stoudemire has already known a few hebrew phrases and even has the star of david tattooed on his hand. But Amare believes he has jewish ties as he plans a trip to Isreal to discover his roots. He is on a week long visit to Isreal to learn about the area along with it's language and culture. According to Stoudemire, his "Hebrew Roots" come from his mother Carrie. Amare grew up in a spiritual household as his mother studied the scriptures and history and believes she is indeed a Hebrew. Stoudemire plans to hire a genealogist when he returns to the big apple to digg deeper. T-MAC & SHAQ STILL W/OUT A HOME

While almost a month has passed since the beginning of arguably the best free agency period in NBA history, there are still alot of talent left on the market. Even with the likes of Lebron James & Chris Bosh teaming up with Dwyane Wade in Miami , some may think the remaining free agents are of no use to any team. But those people are WRONG! Their are great amounts of talent left on the board. Such as Tracy McGrady & Shaquille O'Neal. True, these once dominant players are well past their prime, they still have the ability to contribute to an NBA franchise. Take Shaq. The big diesal is one of the greatest big men this sport has seen. His dominance may have diminished, but is still usefull to many teams. There are numerous reports that the Boston Celtics are interested in the big fella. The Celts could use a man as such to help there depth at center. Even with the signing of C Jermaine O'Neal, Boston would like to add at least one more center. With the injury of Kendrick Perkins expected to sideline him for the beginning of the season, The Celtics seam to be the best fit for Shaq. The biggest issue with Shaquille is his salary expectations. Shaq reportedly wants more than the 5.8 million dollar mid level exception and to play for a contender. At 38 years of age and carreer lows in last few seasons, Shaq just may have to swallow his enormous amount of pride and take less money if he expects to play this upcoming in the NBA. Hey Shaq, you want more money than your worth and a title contending team, keep this up and you can find yourself jobless or overseas playing along side Stephon Marbury in China.
As for Tracy McGragy, he seems to have mental issues. He's still living in the glory days. He still believes he can be the"MAN" on any NBA team. T-Mac has worked out for the Los Angeles Clippers and most recently the Chicago Bulls. Tracy has been talking as if he were already a member of the bulls and it's because of this, his services may not be needed after all in the windy city. Tracy reportedly still has "unfinished buisness" left in Chicago. The bulls have had their eye on McGrady since he entered his name in the NBA draft. They showed interest in him then and again in the 2000 free agency market. Chicago could indeed use him in a limited role as a wing man for their lack of outside shooters. When it comes to Tracy McGrady, it's certainly not about the money, it's about his stature and higher arcey on a team. If he can accept a limited role as the number 4 option at most, then maybe the former all star could find himself in Chicago Bull red and white this upcoming season
